• Summary of the Role

    Predominantly working onsite and as part of a team, you will be required to undertake the various manual tasks required to achieve the project goals set by the site manager. Typically our teams undertake all works from site set up, demolition and strip out right through to project completion and client handover. You will also be required on occasion to undertake small works with one other person.

    The role will be varied from day to day and project to project, with skills and works usually including; brick and masonry works, structural alterations, 1st and 2nd fix joinery, groundworks and drainage, roofing, basic plumbing, landscaping, installing insulation, boarding and plastering. You will work in an efficient and tidy manner with consideration given to other team members and clients. Emphasis will be given to ensure your experience and skill set are utilised and with further training where required. ________________________________________

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for undertaking assigned tasks, adhering to site rules, H&S requirements and supporting team members when required, to ensure the delivery of each project.

    General

    • Undertaking general operative ‘on the tools’ tasks as required

    • Ensuring that the expected / appropriate level of quality/finish is achieved

    • Other duties as required as part of a small & growing business

    Team

    • Supervise, train and grow more junior members on the team

    • Coordinating with foremen from other sites and other senior staff on the best allocation of staff and equipment

    Equipment & materials

    • Ensuring tools, equipment and materials are kept in good condition and stored appropriately

    Key Attributes

    This role requires someone passionate about high-quality innovative building projects. Many of our projects are for heritage / listed buildings which often bring their own challenges. An interest and/or experience in this niche construction sector would be an advantage.

    • A basic understanding of the commercial aspects of a construction business

    • Relevant apprenticeship NVQ, construction related degree, heritage training courses
